Are you an inchworm or a grasshopper? These terms, coined by Professor Steve Chinn and colleagues, describe two distinct math learning styles. Grasshoppers grasp the bigger picture and excel with numbers, while inchworms tend to follow mathematical procedures without understanding the concepts behind them. They lack flexibility, creativity, and the ability to check their work. While not all inchworms are dyscalculic, all individuals with dyscalculia exhibit the traits of inchworms.
